Overview

Nestled inside the Fresh World international supermarket at 9540 Liberia Ave in Manassas, Taqueria Yazmin Manassas is a culinary gem that transports diners straight to the heart of Mexico City through its authentic flavors and vibrant dishes. This modest taqueria may appear unassuming, but its reputation for delivering some of the best tacos Al Pastor in the area has steadily grown, drawing in both locals and food enthusiasts who crave genuine Mexican street food.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly the tacos Al Pastor—pork marinated in a rich blend of spices, slow-cooked on a vertical spit, then thinly shaved and served on freshly made tortillas. Complemented by fresh cilantro, diced onions, and sweet pineapple, each bite strikes a memorable balance of savory, smoky, and tangy notes. The inclusion of both peppery red and tangy green tomatillo salsas allows guests to customize heat and depth, enriching the overall experience. This dish doesn’t merely satisfy hunger; it tells a story rooted in Mexico City's history and immigrant influences.

Beyond the iconic tacos, the menu offers a robust variety including the Gringa Pork Quesadilla and Veggie Quesadilla, showcasing expertly melted cheese and well-seasoned fillings that delight vegetarians and meat lovers alike. Salvadoran Tamales and the hearty Sopa De Res provide additional comfort food options, while the Torta Cubana stands out as a robust sandwich layered with rich flavors—highlighted by numerous customers as an irresistible choice.

The atmosphere leans into the informal and welcoming, with the taqueria situated within a bustling grocery store rather than a traditional restaurant space. This unique location embraces the spirit of a street food stall, making it accessible to those already shopping but surprising in its intentionality and quality. The interaction with staff and owner adds warmth to the visit; customers often remark on their friendliness and genuine passion for sharing their culinary heritage.

Taqueria Yazmin draws in a diverse crowd—from longtime aficionados of Mexican cuisine seeking authentic and bold flavors to curious newcomers hunting flavorful bites. The small, tucked-away spot is ideal for anyone who values authenticity over frills and is eager for fresh, handcrafted dishes that reflect a rich cultural tapestry. While some might find the setting unconventional, the food consistently speaks for itself, proving that great taste knows no boundaries.

Whether you’re craving a spicy, layered taco experience, a savory quesadilla, or homestyle Mexican and Central American comfort foods, Taqueria Yazmin Manassas delivers with heart and expertise. It is a treasured find for Manassas residents and visitors alike, capturing the essence of Mexican street fare and offering an approachable, flavorful journey for every palate.

I stopped in to try the birria, and as someone who grew up on authentic Mexican food, I’m pretty picky, but this really hit home. I haven’t had birria this good since moving up here. The service was warm and welcoming, and the owner/chef (?) even came out to chat with us about their birria con queso. Fast forward a week, and I was already back, ordering the birria con queso just like he described. Honestly the cheese really adds to it and elevated the dish. I wouldn't really judge the atmosphere since it's inside a grocery store. I highly recommend just for the great food and amazing people.

Searching for the perfect taco one requirement is a spot for the Taco Pastor and this is the first place I found one near me. When the rumor hit that is exactly why I headed to Taqueria Yasmin #2, the taco stand at the back of the Fresh World international supermarket in Manassas. Why is it #2? It’s a sequel to a taqueria that’s been operating in Mexico City since 1988. Those origins all but assures the flavors I was craving. Even better? On Friday, the taco Pastor is filled with pork carved from the turning spit. The taco Pastor is a Mexico City tradition, having started in Mexico by immigrants from The Ottoman Empire. The result is a tortilla which is filled with the deep-red strands of marinated pork, but also plentiful cilantro, onion, and burstingly sweet pineapple. to hold the ingredients together and provide a fun stretch. At Taqueria Yasmin #2, peppery red and tomatillo-based green salsas add a slap of heat to each gooey bite.

In the heart of Fresh World, there's this cool spot called Taqueria Jazmin that's kind of like a tasty secret. Despite being inside a store, this place is all about fantastic food. The must-try dish? Tacos Al Pastor. Seriously, they're like a flavor explosion and even got a shout-out from the Washington Post as the best in town! Now, here's the thing—I love this place, but it's kind of hidden. I wish they'd consider moving to a spot where more folks could easily find them. The food is just too good to stay a secret. If you're into genuine Mexican flavors and want a taste adventure, Taqueria Jazmin is the place to be. Give those tacos a try—you won't be disappointed!

I’ve eaten a lot of tacos throughout my life, and I can confidently say these are absolutely the best tacos I’ve ever had. I usually buy my groceries here and decided to give it a shot and I’m so glad I did. It is in a grocery store, so it is cold, I’d recommend to wear a sweater. 100% would recommend!!

Great hidden gem! Stopped by for the first time craving tacos, I got the steak and chicken tacos, my wife had the chicken quesadilla, and we tried a chicken pupusa. The spot is located inside a grocery store, and the owner was friendly and welcoming. Everything we ordered was fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. You can tell it's made with love. We're looking forward to coming back, this place is definitely a new favorite.
